⚪ National League South
⚽ Truro City 5-2 Welling United
As first games of the season go, this one could hardly have gone better for Truro City, who put five goals past Welling United on their return to the National League South.
Rocky Neal opened the scoring after five minutes at Bolitho Park before a quickfire double from Ed Palmer and Adam Porter, making his debut as a permanent signing, put City three goals up after 20 minutes.
Cameron Green pulled one back for the Wings but Porter’s second and a Tyler Harvey effort gave Paul Wotton’s side a remarkable 5-1 lead at the break, with Antony Papadopoulos replying from the spot late on.
The margin of victory puts City at the National League South summit after the opening round of fixtures.

⚪ FA Cup extra preliminary round
⚽ Barnstaple Town 3-1 Saltash United
Ten-man Saltash United surrendered an early lead as they ultimately fell to defeat at Western League rivals Barnstaple Town.
Jack Wood gave the Ashes an early lead at Mill Road, but Callum Laird soon levelled before Jordan Ewing was sent off for Saltash, with Harry Foster then giving Barum the lead. Barnstaple were also reduced to ten men with 15 to go, before Tommy Rogers made sure of victory in the final minutes.
Barnstaple will now make the journey to Southern League outfit and fellow Devonians Tavistock in the preliminary round in two weeks’ time.

⚽ Bridgwater United 4-2 Liskeard Athletic
Liskeard Athletic were minutes away from forcing a replay at higher-division Bridgwater United, but two late goals in Somerset broke Blues hearts.
Dan Jennings put the Blues — one of two Cornish South West Peninsula League sides in the draw — in front at Fairfax Park before Jack Thorne and George King turned the tie around by the break. Jarrad Woods restored parity after the turnaround but late goals from Jack Taylor and Thorne ended Liskeard’s hopes for another year.
Bridgwater are back on home soil in the next round when they host fellow Western League side Street.

⚽ Buckland Athletic 5-1 Torpoint Athletic
Torpoint Athletic couldn’t replicate their midweek Western League win at Buckland with Dan Hart’s side exacting revenge in brutal fashion.
Jared Lewington and Sam Morcom put the Bucks two up at the break before Ryan Bush and Lewington effectively ended the tie as a contest. Louis Rooney then bagged a consolation for Torpoint before Sammy Stayt added gloss to the result for the Devon side.
Buckland can now look forward to a home tie against either Okehampton Argyle or Brixham.

⚽ Falmouth Town 2-1 Exmouth Town
Falmouth Town came from behind to eliminate higher-division opposition as they defeated Southern League outfit Exmouth Town at Bickland Park.
Ethan Slater put the Devonians in front inside two minutes, but a super strike from Tom Annear levelled the tie before Luke Brabyn’s 100th goal for the club clinched a famous comeback win.
Town will entertain Exmouth’s Southern League Division One South colleagues Frome Town in the next round.

⚽ Helston Athletic 3-1 Willand Rovers
Helston Athletic also dispatched Southern League opposition on home soil as they defeated Willand Rovers at Kellaway Park.
Aaron Bentley nodded the hosts in front just before the break and although they were soon pegged back by Doug Camilo’s effort, goals from Jamie Simmonds and Curtis Damerell secured progression for Matt Cusack’s side.
The Blues will face Southern League opposition again in the next round, with a trip to Bideford up next.
📋 Helston: K Moore, T Elliott, T Moxham, J Smith, C O’Brien, J Bentley, A Bentley, R Wilson, C Damerell, J Simmonds, J Copp. Subs: S Colwell, H Jewell, T Payne, S Carter, D Barker, F Walter.
⚽ Mousehole 4-1 Ilfracombe Town
Mousehole opened their account for the season with a fine victory over Ilfracombe Town at Trungle Parc.
The newly-promoted Southern League side led at the break through Jack Bray-Evans and Paulo Sousa before Ollie Beck pulled one back from the spot, but Mark Goldsworthy and Bray-Evans were on hand to clinch victory for Jake Ash’s men.
The Seagulls will now head to Cornish rivals St Blazey in the next round.
⚽ Street 9-1 Millbrook
Millbrook’s tough start to the season continued with a heavy defeat at Western League rivals Street.
Sullivan McKenna and Jake Mawford both scored hat-tricks for the Cobblers at The Tannery, with Kyle Strange, Brad Pfupa and Freddie Frazer also netting for the home side.
Street will now make the trip to Bridgwater United in the next round.
⚽ Wendron United 1-3 St Blazey
St Blazey marked their return to the FA Cup after ten years away with victory at Wendron United, who were making their debut in the competition.
A goal either side of the break from skipper Luke Cloke put the Green and Blacks in control, and while the Dron — the other of the two SWPL sides in the cup this year — pulled one back through Josh Wood, substitute Callum Kenny came off the bench to clinch progression for the visitors, who had Lewis Russell sent off late on.
The Green and Blacks will now welcome newly-promoted Southern League outfit Mousehole to Blaise Park in the next round.

🔵 SWPL Premier West
⚽ Bodmin Town 1-1 Bude Town
Bodmin Town and Bude Town shared two goals and two red cards in an eventful opening-day draw at Priory Park.
Billy Hopcroft put the Seasiders in front early on before visiting goalkeeper Liam Hill was sent off for a challenge on Charlie Hardcastle. Bodmin eventually found a way past stand-in gloveman Harry Hopcroft when Connor Spear notched in the 88th minute, with Sam Clifton receiving a second yellow for the hosts in stoppage time.
⚽ Camelford 1-4 Callington Town
Dean Southcott began his reign as Callington Town manager in style as the Pasty Men put four goals past Camelford at their Trefrew Park home.
Kev McCallion scored either side of Ben Joyce’s effort before Kieran Prescott also netted as Callington cruised to a four-goal lead at the break, with Charlie Hambly pulling one back for the Camels.
⚽ Dobwalls 2-2 Holsworthy
Dobwalls twice fought back from a goal down to rescue a point at home to Devon outfit Holsworthy.
Ryan Buckland put the Magpies, who have transferred from the SWPL Premier East this season, a goal up at Lantoom Park before Gino Garside levelled for the Reds. Aiden Slade restored Holsworthy’s advantage after the break but Ogwu Fidelis snatched a point for the home side.
⚽ Launceston 1-2 Wadebridge Town
Rhys Hooper’s last-gasp goal snatched a dramatic victory for Wadebridge Town as the Bridgers eventually overcame Launceston at their Pennygillam home.
Mike Steele put Neil Price’s side in front early on from the penalty spot before Sam Gerken smashed in an equaliser with 12 minutes to go, with Hooper breaking Clarets hearts with a stunner in the 90th minute.
⚽ Mullion 4-1 Sticker
Mullion got their campaign off to a fantastic start with a four-goal victory over Sticker at Clifden Parc.
Phil Cattran’s effort took Rob Carey’s side into the interval all square, before a Brodie Kemp brace and a 25-yard belter from Cattran secured an excellent opening-day win.
⚽ St Austell 4-2 Penzance
Adam Carter scored a hat-trick on his debut as Chris Knight’s third spell in charge of St Austell began with victory over Penzance at Poltair Park.
Carter gave Town the lead from the spot before Oscar Massey restored parity just before the break. Carter’s second and Jake Shaw’s strike put the Lillywhites in control before the former completed his treble, with the Magpies pulling one back late on via an own goal.
🟢 Plymouth Argyle
⚽ Plymouth Argyle 3-1 Huddersfield Town
Plymouth Argyle announced their return to the second tier of English football in style as the Pilgrims defeated Huddersfield Town in front of a sell-out crowd at Home Park.
Morgan Whittaker, making his first appearance as a permanent signing, put Steven Schumacher’s side in front after six minutes, but the Terriers were back on terms in first-half stoppage time through Michal Helik.
The Greens restored their lead on 74 minutes thanks to a stunning solo goal from Bali Mumba — also making his return on a permanent basis — before Ryan Hardie made sure of the points two minutes later as Argyle marked their first Championship outing for 13 years with a victory.
The win means Argyle sit third in the fledgling Championship table, with only Watford and Stoke City recording larger victories on Saturday.
